何たる悪い世相だ。太宰治がもてはやされて、坂口安吾が忘れられるとは、石が浮んで、木の葉が沈むようなものだ。坂口安吾は、何もかも洞察していた。底の底まで見透かしていたから、明るくて、決してメソメソせず、生活は生活で、立派に狂的だった。坂口安吾の文学を読むと、私はいつもトンネルを感じる。なぜだろう。余計なものがなく、ガランとしていて、空っ風が吹きとおって、しかもそれが一方から一方への単純な通路であることは明白で、向こう側には、夢のように明るい丸い遠景の光りが浮んでいる。この人は、未来を怖れもせず、愛しもしなかった。未来まで、この人はトンネルのように、体ごと、スポンと抜けていたからだ。太宰が甘口の酒とすれば、坂口はジンだ。ウォトカだ。純粋なアルコオル分はこちらのほうにあるのである。

What a bad world we live in. DAZAI Osamu being praised and ANGO Sakaguchi being forgotten is like a stone floating and a leaf sinking. ANGO Sakaguchi had an insight into everything. Because he saw through to the bottom of the bottom, he was cheerful, never shy, and his life was life. He was admirably fanatical. When I read ANGO Sakaguchi's literature, I always feel a tunnel. I wonder why. There is nothing superfluous, it is empty, the strong dry wind is blowing, and it is obvious that it is a simple passage from one side to the other. And on the other side, a glow from a distant landscape, round and bright as a dream, floats by. This man did not fear the future, nor did he love it. Like a tunnel, his whole body slipped through to the future. If Dazai is a sweet sake, Sakaguchi is a gin or vodka. The pure alcoholic content is here on the side of Ango.
